It is clear that such a requirement—asking people to be ascetics and abstain from sexual relations—is beyond human strength. It does not call upon the whole being, because you are earthly creatures, born of sexual union.
So where is the true meaning in this? How can such a demand be considered well-founded, when it seems to arise from the minds of extremists rather than from a deep understanding of human nature?
This cannot be a legitimate expectation of you, Earthlings, for you are born of sexuality itself. How could you be asked to renounce what gave you life? Sexual energy is a powerful force—a source of joy, happiness, and fulfillment. Why would anyone ask you to deny it, when it is tied to your very essence and your experience of life on Earth?
